It's a truth universally acknowledged that two birthday cakes are better than just one birthday cake.
Kelly Clarkson totally gets it. To celebrate her 36th birthday on April 24, The Voice coach was gifted with not just one—but two—beautifully decorated layer cakes from Los Angeles’s Big Sugar Bakeshop.
The first cake she shared on her Instagram account earlier today was inspired by her first season as a coach on The Voice. It was complete with three tiers decorated with stars and topped off with an edible version of the iconic red chairs that Clarkson and the other coaches sit in on the NBC show.
The second cake is even more impressive. Last year, Clarkson made her and it looks like the hobby stuck since the other cake Big Sugar Bakeshop made for her is all quilting themed. The first tier is a purple layer decorated to look like a pin-tucked fabric, while the second and third tiers look like a basket full of quilting supplies and a gigantic spool of purple thread. To top it all off, there’s a red pin cushion and a quilt decorated with with personal details like the Texan flag wrapped around the back. (Like any true Southern girl would have!)
You can see the elaborate details and the back of the cake in this Instagram the bakery posted yesterday.
