Does your ideal Christmas morning include some ho-ho-hashbrowns? How about a Big Mac for the big man in the red suit? Whether you're looking for an easy meal before the rest of the festivities or you simply don't celebrate December 25, there are several restaurants open on Christmas Day. But before you swing into your go-to drive-through, you should know that some McDonald's locations will be open—albeit not all.
"Only a handful of McDonald's restaurants open on Christmas Day," for the fast food chain notes. The same goes for Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day.

Why Do McDonald's Holiday Hours Vary?
Part of McDonald's magic is that they, like Starbucks and dollar stores, have so many locations. However, if you're traveling for the holidays, remember: Just because the McDonald's in your city stays open on Christmas, that doesn't mean the one in Grandma's town will.
"Ninety-five percent of McDonald's restaurants are independently owned and operated, so the holiday business hours will vary by location," a rep for the restaurant tells Ikaroo.info. "The best way to determine hours for your local McDonald's is to call ahead of your visit to confirm their hours."
So, before you skip stockings in favor of Happy Meals and trade holiday brunch for McMuffins, make sure the McDonald's in your area is actually open at the time you want to visit.
If you feel like getting festive, the McCafé Peppermint Mocha is back on the menu just in time for winter. Of course, you can also whip up a homemade version of the seasonal sipper with our slow cooker peppermint bark hot chocolate (just add a shot of espresso to make it a mocha!).
The fast food eatery also just introduced the new Triple Breakfast Stacks, an egg sandwich piled high with hot sausage patties, crispy, thick-cut Applewood smoked bacon, and American cheese. But if your local store is closed, try our loaded breakfast sandwich recipe.
Set on going out? Check the holiday hours at these other fast food restaurants. Most locations will be open on Christmas—though again, it's still a good idea to call ahead or check the hours online.
