"What's up with all the white?" It's a question we hear almost every day here from our Facebook fans at Ikaroo.info. Recent trends have favored light colors, with designers and homeowners often opting for all-white everything—particularly in small spaces, since it's thought that white helps make a small space seem more spacious.
Well, this 280-square-feet tiny house is here to prove anyone who claims you can't use dark colors in a small room wrong. Instead of going light and airy, the Indigo Tiny Home by is decorated with pops of dark, moody colors.
The key to making such a bold design work in a small space is balance. Here, you'll find that some spaces are painted bright white to contrast with the indigo paint and reclaimed barn wood seen throughout the house. But perhaps our favorite room of all is the kitchen where blue cabinets are paired with rustic wood instead of subway tile, which would have been the safer option. And did we mention there's shiplap on some of the walls? Be still, our country hearts.
If the decor isn't convincing enough, this home's layout may just make a tiny house lover out of you. The ceilings are high enough to fit a chandelier in the living room and the kitchen is fully stocked with gourmet appliances. Thanks to an oversized loft, there's even enough room for you and a guest. The first floor bedroom fits a queen size bed that converts to a desk area with storage below.
