Major congratulations are in order for Chris Stapleton and his wife, Morgane Stapleton. Recently, the couple welcomed twin babies, both boys, officially making them a family of six (they already share two older kids).
The world first learned the Stapletons were expecting on the couple's 10th anniversary. Their arrival was then announced on the country star's 40th birthday—and the night of the Academy of Country Music Awards, where he won Album of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year. But it turns out, the twins had actually been around for a bit. Here's everything we know about the babies— their first-ever photo.
1. Reba McEntire announced the babies' arrival.
While hosting the 2018 ACM Awards in April, Reba McEntire had already reminded the audience that the singer would not be in attendance due to his wife's pregnancy. But after Sugarland announced his album, From A Room Vol. 1, had won, Reba updated everyone on the twins' arrival and gender.
Following the awards show, Chris wrote on Instagram: "Thank you for sharing our good news ! We couldn’t have dreamed up a better day. Morgane & the boys are doing great & we appreciate everyone's support!"
2. The twins joined a big brother and sister.
The Stapletons were already parents to two little ones, a son and daughter around ages 6 and 8, whenon Instagram in the fall.
"14 years, 2 babies, & 2 more on the way," Morgane captioned a photo posted on their anniversary. "Happy 10 year anniversary babe! You make my whole world go round."
"She's the mother of my two kids, and she's about to be the mother of two more," quoted Chris as saying at a concert shortly before.
3. Chris and Morgane's kids' names are unknown.
We still don't know the babies' names. All four of Chris and Morgane's kids' names have been kept a secret, as the couple has chosen to shield their children from the spotlight.
4. But there is one photo of the babies.
Before they were born, Morgane showed off her baby bump at several red carpet appearances, but neither she (nor the babies) have been seen since the birth, with one exception.
Morgane shared the first picture of her newborns for the sweetest reason: to thank their nurses and doctors for the care they received in the neonatal intensive care unit.
5. The twins were premature.
"We're so grateful to finally be home with our sweet family," Morgane wrote on Instagram. We would like to say a special thank you to all the incredible nurses & doctors at Centennial Women's & Children's Hospital in Nashville. At more than a month early, we had a week long stay in the nicu & the incredible people there kept our boys healthy & happy. Words cannot express our gratitude for you all & what you did for our family. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you! ♥️♥️"
Though their exact birthday is unclear, on March 9, Morgane posted a picture of two horses with the caption: "My boys are home." Perhaps the musician wasn't referencing the horses at all but her babies?
Either way, congratulations to the beautiful family!
