Adam Levine Wants Kelly Clarkson to 'Stomach Punch' Blake Shelton on 'The Voice'

The coaches are taking the season 15 competition seriously.

Adam Levine and Blake Shelton are known for their playful antics on The Voice. But now veteran coach Adam wants fellow star Kelly Clarkson to get in on the action, too.

Although Kelly described the competition between her, Adam, Blake, and Jennifer Hudson as a “friendly rivalry,” Adam claimed he wishes she would tease Blake a bit more during the NBC series, which just showcased its top 10 performers on Monday.

“She doesn’t bust him as much as I do,” he told . “I wish she went a little harder.”

And he didn’t stop there. “She’ll slap him around but she won’t stomach punch him. I want to see some stomach punches,” he continued. “I want her to punch him in the face.”

Kelly chimed in to laugh off the Maroon 5 singer’s comment, and assure everyone that she’s not interested in coming to physical blows with Blake (which is probably a good thing, considering her husband Brandon Blackstock is Blake’s manager). “I’m trying to keep a little level of tact on the show,” she said.

Though Adam and Blake like to pick on each other—and share a kiss from time to time—it sounds like Kelly is the one who gets it the worst in the coach’s group text.

“All these boys do is make fun of me!” she said. But she added that, all jokes aside, “We legitimately respect each other as artists and humans.”

Adam’s response? “More or less."
