Fixer Upper fans are likely familiar with Michael Matsumoto, the show’s producer who received a makeover from Chip and Joanna Gaines on the season four finale. Few can forget how Chip and Jo transformed the dilapidated $12,500 shack into a stunning farmhouse for Michael's family, which now includes two twin babies. But if you thought the heartwarming episode couldn’t get any more exciting, you may want to sit down for this.
Michael and his wife, Jessie, are renting out their 4-bedroom, 2-bathroom abode starting at $350/night on , according to a post on Instagram. “If you are traveling to #Waco in the next few months we have decided to rent out our house for a limited time,” he said.
His collage of photos highlights the scenic property, which is located in about a thirty minute drive from Chip and Joanna’s home of Waco. According to the listing, it boasts an open concept kitchen, spa-like baths with rainhead showers, bunk beds for the kids, and plenty of ways to keep them occupied, too, thanks to the huge yard, basketball court, and gym.
Michael is not moving away from the area—he confirmed that “we are not leaving Waco” on social media—but according to , the Matsumotos are planning to relocate closer to the Fixer Upper stars. “It was hard to make the decision to put our house on Airbnb, but two things help us with that decision,” he told the outlet. “Work may get busy so I wanted to be closer to the office.”
Plus, the producer wanted to share the Chip and Jo experience with his followers. “Truthfully our house is such a special gift and so many fans have told us that it’s their favorite, it’ll be nice to let them get to experience the magic of it,” he said.
As Michael is also reportedly joining Chip and Joanna when they make their return to TV, we can only hope that means another renovation for his sweet family in the future. A Fixer Upper fan can dream!
