Kelly's new project, which will be produced in Los Angeles, is set to be a combination of interviews and musical performances involving both celebrities and everyday people. The website for The Kelly Clarkson Show promises the hour will be "full of remarkable stories and spontaneous surprises."
In an interview with , executive producer Alex Duda said it is, "going to be the essence of Kelly—fun, funny, upbeat, disarming."
"Kelly has something to say to the daytime audience that is unlike anybody else in the daypart right now. She's a 36-year-old mom living in a blended family. She's living a big life right now at the top of her career trajectory," Alex explained. "She's so good at connecting with people."

Kelly revealed to Ellen that she has already filmed the first episode for her new show!
"We did the pilot, and I was oddly comfortable," Kelly said. But she did admit that she needs practice when it comes to listening to the guests during interviews.
"I do need to learn, and I have literally been watching ... all of your episodes and Oprah's and everyone’s, because I’m like, 'How do I listen?' I was not good at listening," she said. "I just don’t shut up."
"I think I’m going to be really good at all the other things—just not that one," Kelly added. "But I like a challenge."
Ellen agreed that Kelly would excel at her new project. "That's why I thought you'd be a great talk show host—you are very natural, very comfortable," she said.
Will Kelly Clarkson sing on her new show?
Fans of the country singer's vocals are not going to want to miss the beginning of Kelly's segments.
"Each show we lead with music," she . "I just come down singing." The artist further explained that she will only perform for around a minute, and won't be singing her own songs—because she wants to "lift up other artists" by covering their music.
