It's a bittersweet feeling when a character is unveiled on The Masked Singer. Of course, we're all eager to know who's behind the incredibly ornate costumes, but it's also a bit of a bummer when we have to say goodbye.
On last night's episode, the Rabbit, the Alien, the Lion, and the Unicorn, strutted their stuff in hopes of making it through another week. The judges were definitely impressed with the performances, but in the end, the audience voted for the Unicorn, who sang , to take off its mask.
But before the horned horse disclosed its identity, judge Ken Jeong had some kind words for the unknown star.
"Props out to the unicorn for an amazing journey," he said. "I'm a little torn, too, because I just think, you know, out of all of them, emotionally, there was a sentimental favorite, you know, that is the Unicorn. So, I give a shout out," he added. He then guessed that the magical creature was Tori Spelling.
Although Ken wasn't successful at predicting that the Poodle was his own co-star Margaret Cho, the actor was spot-on this time! It was, in fact, Tori behind the disguise. "I meant every word of what I said," he told the former actress. "You were my sentimental favorite. I love you so much, and you had the most heart being here tonight."
An emotional Tori responded by explaining what inspired her to join the competition.
"This right now, performing in front of people, is my biggest fear in life," she admitted. "I always wanted to sing, and I love singing. When I was little, someone told me I was tone deaf, and it stayed with me my whole life."
The 45-year-old continued, "I love singing with my kids, and I wanted them to know, that they could be whatever they want to be, and so I did this show. I'm sad it took me this long in life to feel confident and feel like I could do something like this, but I'm glad The Masked Singer brought it out in me."
The honest admission touched many viewers at home and in the audience, as Tori received a standing ovation. With so many shocking and heartwarming moments in this episode, we can hardly wait for next week.
