Um, Did Michael Bolton Just Fall Asleep on Live TV?

This video is the greatest thing you'll see today, confirmed.

Someone get Michael Bolton a pillow!

The Grammy-winning artist, 65, appeared on Australia’s The Morning Show to talk all the details of his new album, A Symphony of Hits. But the chat was perhaps a little sleepier than hosts Larry Emdur and Kylie Gillies expected.

They connected with the “When a Man Loves a Woman” singer via video chat, but Michael failed to respond to the TV stars. Michael didn’t realize that they were attempting to get his attention, so he decided (as all busy adults do) to use his few minutes of downtime for what appeared to be a quick nap.

Larry and Kylie continued to try to speak with him, and at one point Michael even stirred a little and said, “It’s gone silent.” But he seemed to quickly close his eyes again, because who among us doesn’t want to sneak in some shut eye when possible?

As it turns out, Larry was right when he joked, “Maybe he’s on Instagram.” Michael later took to Twitter to respond to the mishap with a good-natured comment that will only make you and your mom love him more.

I got my first record deal when I was 15 and I haven’t slept since!! In all seriousness there were technical issues with the live feed and they caught me tweeting! We had a great interview once they fixed the glitch. #FakeNews #50thAnniversary #SymphonyOfHits pic..com/xE3aV7GelL

“I got my first record deal when I was 15 and I haven’t slept since!!” he wrote. “In all seriousness there were technical issues with the live feed and they caught me tweeting! We had a great interview once they fixed the glitch.”

Though we would have supported Michael’s right to sleep regardless, we’re glad it can all be chocked up to social media. Sweet dreams!
