The Baxters are moving again!
After its dramatic cancellation on ABC and eventual revival, Last Man Standing has been through quite a roller coaster ahead of its seventh season, which premiered in September on Fox. The comedy starring Tim Allen and Nancy Travis has proved to be a success, dominating the ratings on Friday nights, according to .
Though the series will likely get renewed for an eighth season (phew), it's still going to see a major change later this year. According to , if the show does get the green light for another run, Last Man Standing will likely lose its current Friday night time slot. Why?
“[In the] the short-term, Friday night is going to WWE,” said Charlie Collier, the Fox Entertainment chief. “We’ll look to stand [Last Man Standing] up on another night.”
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen Mike (Tim), Vanessa (Nancy), Kristin (Amanda Fuller), Mandy (Molly McCook), and Eve (Kaitlyn Dever) swap air days. When it first premiered way back in 2011, it ran on Tuesday nights. It wasn’t until season 2 that it secured the Friday placement.
This may feel concerning to loyal Last Man Standing supporters, but suggests we have nothing to worry about. Fox revived the hit show after its passionate fan base practically forced its return, and the outlet predicts, “There’s no way the network is going to pull the plug now.”
We’re still not sure exactly what day the former Home Improvement star and the cast will appear on for season 8, but we do know we’ll be setting our DVRs and rearranging our schedules accordingly as soon as we hear.
