Miranda Lambert just met the love of her life—and tied the knot with him in a surprise ceremony—but she’s still going to let out the occasional marriage joke every now and again.
The Pistol Annies front-woman performed at the star-studded who turns 87 in April. Before belting out Loretta’s classic song, “Don’t Come Home A-Drinkin’” Miranda gave a speech in honor of the country star, and included a little dig at men while she was at it.
“Thank you for inspiring me…for all the advice, I guess you would, about when husbands piss you off a little bit,” Miranda said, as the crowd cheered. (, and don’t forget to check out her ring!)
Miranda is known for her firey commentary when it comes to relationships. She recently released which is all about—you guessed it—getting rid of your ex-husband’s moniker after the marriage goes sour.
Fortunately, it doesn’t seem like the country star has to worry about that at the moment. She wed NYDP officer Brendan McLoughlin earlier this year, first announcing the news in February. “I met the love of my life. And we got hitched!” she wrote alongside a photo of the two. “My heart is full.”
Miranda will make her first major red carpet appearance as a newlywed in April at the 2019 ACM Awards. There’s no word on if Brendan will join her, but since she’s performing and nominated, we certainly hope we’ll see them hand-in-hand.
