- David James Elliott and Catherine Bell starred on JAG until it ended in 2005.
- The series inspired the NCIS franchise, so many hoped there would one day be a JAG reunion.
- Now, both David and Catherine are for multiple episodes on NCIS: LA.
NCIS: Los Angeles fans, you’ll need to sit down for this one. The CBS show just announced some exciting news, and We. Are. Losing. It.
You remember, JAG, right? The crime drama starred David James Elliott as Harmon Rabb, Jr., and Catherine Bell as Sarah "Mac" MacKenzie, and followed the day-to-day drama of the lawyers of the U.S. Navy’s Judge Advocate General’s office. It ran for 10 years before its tragic end in 2005.
Of course, one of the most positive rewards we reaped from the JAG series was its spinoff, NCIS. After Mark Harmon made NCIS such a success, the world was once again blessed with NCIS: Los Angeles and NCIS: New Orleans.
Longtime viewers of the show had always held out hope for an NCIS-JAG crossover. Now, finally, we're getting it.
<Pause for freakout.>
reported that both David and Catherine will reprise their roles for four episodes of NCIS: LA. According to the outlet, the reunion will begin on May 12, running along the final two episodes of this season, and the first two of the following season. The story will revolve around ISIS sympathizers who are possibly planning an attack.
And it gets better: Deadline speculated that if Harm and Mac’s resurgence is a hit, that could lead to a possible JAG reboot. But, sadly, there’s nothing concrete to suggest that will happen—yet.
