We Finally Know If 'NCIS: New Orleans' Will Return for Season 6

And if Scott Bakula is coming back, too.

    Sometimes spin-offs can be just as successful as the original show, like NCIS: New Orleans, for example, which just got renewed for its sixth season. Yes, fans of the Southern-based crime procedural will be thrilled to learn the series is officially included in the 2019-2020 TV lineup.

    CBS revealed the exciting announcement in a news release that also noted NCIS: Los Angeles would return to the small screen for another season. "Both shows have been key pillars to the CBS schedule for several years," Kelly Kahl, the President of CBS Entertainment said in the release. "They offer heroic stories, big stars, and have attracted a passionate, loyal fan base. We’re excited to have Chris [O'Donnell], LL [COOL J], Scott [Bakula], and these terrific casts back to bring more terrific NCIS stories to viewers in the U.S. and around the world."

    It's still unclear which actors will be returning. But Kahl did mention the show's star, Scott Bakula, who plays Supervisory Special Agent Dwayne Pride, in the statement, so it seems as if he'll continue to run the Naval Criminal Investigative Service. Scott has also been sharing posts about his show's renewal on social media.

    Another star likely coming back to the Big Easy? Rob Kerkovich AKA Forensic Scientist Sebastian Lund. In fact, Rob already gave fans a hint of what's to come. Taking to Twitter, the actor shared an article announcing the renewal with the cheeky caption: "SEASON SIX, BABY. At least 24 more fictional people are guaranteed to die next year!"

    There's no word on when season 6 will debut, but as season 5 premiered at the end of September, it will likely be around the same time this year.
