- Adam Levine's entire team was eliminated on The Voice.
- He was suspiciously quiet during the Top 8 performances, and many wondered why host Carson Daly wasn't seeking his feedback.
- Adam finally spoke out about Maelyn Jarmon, and even his naysayers agreed with him.
The veteran coach has had to dodge a lot of obstacles since the NBC series returned in February. Fans still haven’t forgiven him for last year’s drama between DeAndre Nico and Reagan Strange, and some were even punishing the Maroon 5 singer by not voting for his contestants. His entire team ended up getting eliminated weeks before the finale, leaving Adam with no one to support in the Top 8 performances.
This turn of events is just a little awkward, to say the least. Because Adam has no one to root for, he naturally will have less to contribute after the artists hit the stage. That said, there were many viewers who were upset that Adam seemingly wasn’t getting the opportunity to speak up like Kelly Clarkson, Blake Shelton, and John Legend.
He was finally able to get a word in after frontrunner Maelyn Jarmon sang. Here’s the high praise he offered the 26-year-old:
“Amazing, amazing. Look, I obviously don’t have a horse in this race at this point, I’m just going to say: You definitely should win The Voice. I believe you should win The Voice. And the reason why is very simple. Look at the name of the show, you embody what the show is all about, what it has been about for all these seasons, and there’s no reason, in my opinion, and I’m sure John’s, why you definitely should not win this thing, man. It just seems like you’re the absolute frontrunner and best singer we got right now.”
Even those who aren’t Adam’s biggest supporters could get on board with that statement, and thanked him for his honest feedback.
Whether you’re forever Team Adam, or if his Voice style (both literally and figuratively) isn’t quite your taste, you have to admit that watching him is at least entertaining. After all, without Adam, Kelly would have no one to talk about her gross habits with, John would land all the pop singers, and, of course, there’d be no #Shevine to ship.
