- Joanna Gaines released her first cookbook, Magnolia Table, in April 2018.
- After its massive success (it is a New York Times Bestseller, after all), the former Fixer Upper star has revealed she's now writing a second cookbook.
Leave it to Chip and Joanna Gaines to get us this excited about something that doesn't even exist yet.
Just last year, Joanna published her first cookbook following the success of the couple's Waco restaurant. With stunning photography, thoughtful recipes, and sweet stories, Magnolia Table gave us all the Gaines-approved, culinary goodness we could ever ask for—and then some. Flaky biscuits, green beans amandine, and a ton of other mouthwatering treats fill its pages.
But, as with anything that delicious, it's impossible not to ask for seconds. Thankfully, Jo took to Instagram in June 2019 to reveal that she's already hard at work on a sequel.
"After months of developing and finalizing recipes, we are excited to start shooting Volume Two of our cookbook!" the 41-year-old author, TV personality, and mother of five captioned an Instagram post showcasing several hilarious outtake shots from the new book.
Baby Crew is featured prominently in each image, and, as one would expect from an (almost) 1-year-old, he's not exactly staying still. "Gonna have to talk with this little one's agent about his on-set behavior...."
We're not sure when the new book is set to debut, nor do we have details on what sorts of recipes we can expect to find within it. But if the second edition of Magnolia Table is anything like the first, we'll be satisfied: Reimagined Southern dishes from last year's release (scalloped potatoes, spiced pecan pie, and "Mama's Mac and Cheese," to name a few) still have us drooling.
While we're waiting, we'll be revisiting those—grab your copy to do the same!
