Handy hunk Scott McGillivray, also known as the "renaissance man" of HGTV, is back at it again. He'll soon be launching a new home series on HGTV and it's going to be pretty different than anything you've seen on the network before.
On the show, which will premiere later this year, Scott is going to partner with first-time buyers and flippers to renovate homes across the country, the Income Property star told Ikaroo.info. Rather than following renovation experts or experienced flippers, the series will follow real people looking to break into the business, and it will be the first show of its kind on the network.
"There's so many shows about real estate investing now, but you're always watching somebody else do it," Scott told Ikaroo.info. "The homeowners don't get an opportunity to be involved, so we found a way to get them involved. I'm partnering up with homeowners and we're investing in real estate together. It's like Shark Tank meets HGTV. And my favorite thing is that it's never been done."
The experienced flipper knows that breaking into real estate can be difficult and intimidating, since it can be almost impossible to do without the right funding and resources. Scott wants to address that by giving passionate people a chance to learn all about it.
Here's how the show will work: Wannabe experts and flippers will pitch their real estate ideas or properties to Scott, he will provide the financing, and then they'll work together to fix it up and make money selling it. "It's amazing how many people have opportunities, but they just don't have the resources to get it done," Scott said.
And here's the best part—Scott and his production team are casting right now, so if you've ever dreamed about flipping homes but were too scared to try, here's your chance to do it with an expert by your side. There's no official premiere date for the series yet, but he hopes it will air by the end of the year.
