Ever since falling down the Victorian fixer-upper rabbit hole last week, we've been steadily climbing our way out—and we'd be nearly there, had in Natchez, Mississippi not entered the scene. Set on a beautiful historical street in the city's garden district, it's just five blocks away from the Mississippi River and $85,500 away from being ours.
There's nothing grand or pretentious about the Folk Victorian-style home, which is perhaps why we find it so irresistibly charming. The exterior is decorated with whimsical spindles and lace-like porch brackets, while the 2,256 sq. ft. interior boasts all sorts of details typical of the era: beautiful mantels, original paneled doors, door surrounds with bullseye rosettes, and hardwood floors just waiting to be polished.
A significant number of historical homes survive in Natchez, which was once the wealthiest city in America. So it goes without saying that the next buyer will find no shortage of inspiration for restoring this home to its former glory. With a little love, we can only imagine how stunning this place could be!
